Hey fer,

In the base-game there are three Squads (Red, Blue, Yellow).
Each Squad has one Commander Miniature (no helmet).
Four Marine Miniatures.
Everyone has a Backpack.

The Commander comes with:
- Power Glove and Sword (1)
- Power Axe and Bolt Pistol (1)
- Heavy Bolter (1)

The Marines come with:
- Assault Cannon (1)
- Plasma Gun (1)
- Missile Launcher (1)
- Bolt Pistols (3)

The Chaos Squad is a Chaos Commander miniature (straight-horned helmet).
Four Chaos Marine Miniatures (curve-horned helmets)
Everyone has a Backpack.

The Chaos Commander comes with:
- Heavy Bolter (1)

The Chaos Marines come with:
- Missile Launcher (1)
- Bolt Pistols (3)

Hope this helps you out...

Edit: Only 3 Bolt Pistols per Marine Squad.
Edit: Added Chaos Squad and Weapons list.

Thanks a lot for your reply, that helps a lot.
So that makes 10 pieces on each color.

My copy has some weapons glued to the bodies, because they broke.
I have not played the game. Is it going to be a problem that 2 or 3 weapons are glued to the bodies? Do the weapons change often? or are they choosen at the begining and stay like this for the game?

thanks again and happy games!

I really love this game!! I hope you like it too...
It's not a heavy game, but it really seems to capture my imagination!

The Commander picks one of his 3 personal Weapons (Glove, Axe, Bolter).

But the setup for each Squad requires that at least ONE of the Marines has a Heavy Weapon (Plasma, Cannon, Launcher), and at least one guy has a Bolt Pistol. Other than that, you can mix and match.

As far as strategy goes, the Blood Angels (Red) have a penchant for Hand-to-Hand combat, and have Equipment Cards which emphasise that, so I will usually take four Bolters and one Missile Launcher. Whereas the Imperial Fist (Yellow) have 'Suspensors' Equipment which allows them to carry Heavy Weapons easily, so I am happy to load them up!

Weapons won't change during the game, UNLESS the Alien Player pulls the 'Out of Ammo' Event card, which allows them to force one Marine soldier to lose his Heavy Weapon and go down to a Bolter. This requires a swap-out. However, you could just mark the victim with Blu-tac or something, if his Weapon is glued in!

Awww... Now you're making me want to go and pull it out and play!!

Thanks so much for your reply. I can not wait to play it!
Your explanation helped me a lot to understand how 'serious' is the damage of my secondhand copy.
I will start playing the game as it is now, and will keep an eye on ebay for spare pieces.
Thanks again

Hi, Michael.
I had some time to look at my game and chart all pieces and weapons. I found on the inner box, the inventory for weapons, and in my Spanish version of the game, should be no 4 light bolters but only 3. That makes a total of 9 weapons/color.
I assume that it will be the same on the English version, since there are 4 legionaries and one must use a heavy weapon, then only 3 light bolters are needed.
Pls, correct me if I am wrong.

After reading more and your reply, I also understand that one of the legionaries can be glued to a light bolter, because according to the rules one legionary must carry one of these on all missions. Because of that, and your suggestions of using bluetack I think that the damages of my secondhand copy are less than I previously thought. Only 3 light bolters missing.

Thanks again.

And what is the score with the Chaos soldiers and their weaponry?

In my game there are 5 bodies, and 5 weapons (4pistols and 1heavy). I think that is the correct inventory, is that right?
I have at least one of them glued to a weapon.
Do you always use the same configuration? Do the alien commander takes the heavy weapon and the soldiers the pistols? The rules does not say anything about it, only says that the alien player takes the 5 Chaos bodies and the 5 weapons.

Thanks again.

Hi Fer,

Sorry for the long delay in replying...

Yes, you are correct that there are only 3 Bolters per Squad (my mistake) - so I have updated my earlier post to show this.

There are 3 Bolters, 3 Heavy Weapons, and 3 Commander Weapons per Squad.

And, although you are correct, something seems wrong to me about gluing a Bolter onto a Marine!!

The Chaos Marines are in a fixed configuration but are similar to the good-guy Squads:
- 1 Chaos Commander
- 4 Chaos Marines

The Chaos Commander has his Heavy Bolter Weapon.
Three Chaos Marines have Bolters, and one takes the Heavy Missile Launcher
(watch out for him, as he can easily cut your Squad like butter!).
