There is a slippery slope for losers in this game in that the winners can keep choosing favorable quests. So here's a simple variant to lessen the impact.

1) Both sides choose a mission to go to
2) A third mission is randomly chosen
3) Roll a brown die; If it's blank (3/6), the random mission is chosen; If it's one shield (2/6), the winner's mission is chosen; if it's two shields (1/6 then the loser's mission is chosen

Now there's still a reward of picking missions, but it's more random. I considered having the blank (3/6) as the winner's reward, but that leads to a slippery slope faster than the random, so I left these ratios.
