Those things cost an arm and a leg, and all my arms and legs are needed currently. So, I trying to get $300+ in order to buy one. I have games. Make an offer on one. I have a couple of sentimental games that were given to me after my first child passed away after birth, so Indonesia and Key Largo (orignal version) are not for sale. everything else is fair game. Please don't offer $10 for roads and boats plus expansion, serious offers please. GM me. I'd list them here, but for now, I am just going to throw this up - the kid is 3 weeks from due.

Congratulations!

I know there is an Ewww factor, but you can get good deals on used breast pumps off eBay. There are a lot of nearly new ones from women who weren't able to breastfeed. The other thing I would recommend is the Mother's Milkmate storage system. It's a rack that makes a first in, first out system easy. I had one in the freezer and one in the refrigerator.

Agreed. You need to jump on this pump, friend.

I'll look into the insurance coverage. She wants one that is rechargeable, and costs upwards of 300 dollars. If that is the Medela, then that is the one she wants. I think Target has them. Thanks for the offers. I'll look into the insurance and then get back to the offers.

Thanks everyone.

I'll look into the insurance, but I still will look at offers for other expenses that will show up, I'm sure.

We bought a used pump and just got brand new tubing/breast shields for a few dollars. It saved us a ton of money.

Of course, your wife seems to have specific needs in mind. The model we have (and older Medela) works well, but it is corded only.

Good luck!

If you buy used, please please please buy new plastic parts for it.

Not that the old ones are icky, but this happened to my wife. Suddenly she wasn't giving as much milk as she used to. We were scratching our heads and worried and taking all sorts of milk-meds... then we looked at the pump closely. Really close. You could see a small fracture in the pump parts. New parts, and boom, we're back in business.

So those small fractures are the worst, because the pump will look like it's working...but it's not.

Wow, just Goggled them, sticker shock, what a racket.

I have seen them on Craigslist, new and used, never paid much attention to them/price. It is odd what you can find on Craigslist.

On the subject of breast feeding, anyone see ABC news?

Geek mail if you see something you want with what you want to pay. I'll update you, and in a couple of days, I'll end it. I am still working on getting a pump in other ways, but no luck yet, so I still have the auction going. I guess this is a rather silent auction, since I am not posting the bids, and just inform others if they were outbid. Not many bites, so it is easier this way.

We rented ours from one of the other hospitals in town. The one were my girls were born did not have rentals. But the lactation nurse were very helpful in pointing us to the one that did. It was like $25. a month, with a deposit.
