There's a "Play Immediately" card in Outpost Deck 3 that reads: "Heart Condition: The El Capitan player must place this card on top of an NPC card (do not select an NPC in the Tool Shed). That NPC may not be selected for encounters again."

Does this keep the NPC from participating in The Final Confrontation? That is, would the NPC's die/dice be used to fight the Thing(s)?

I assume that if the NPC was an Infected Thing that the Thing player could reveal the Infection card and attack as part of The Final Confrontation.

In our game, this was drawn as part of the Draw Phase of The Final Confrontation.

Good question, Kevin.

That card keeps the heart-condition-guy out of action, but may still do bad things during the Final Confrontation.

I don't believe anyone is "selected" for the Final Confrontation as it is.

You're "all in."

Nope. The Final Confrontation has no restrictions on who can be involved, but you don't HAVE to bring everyone with you. The guy with the heart condition is laying around the Rec Room while the fight is going on elsewhere.
It's a good move to keep him from going on tasks and encounters earlier so that my thing PCs don't bring him along to thing out....
Too bad he's joining the fight on my side during the final encounter.

Heart condition is kind of like an extra Tool Shed.

I'm unclear about this, particularly the phrase "do bad things".

Does that mean the poor schmuck with the heart condition:
*Doesn't contribute an extra die
*Doesn't contribute their key skill for allowing autosuccess cards
*Can be selected for reveal by the thing player if he has an infection card?

Correct on all points.
