Hi all,

I am completely new here and figured my question would fit best under general gaming, but then I decided to throw it into the recommendations tab because I sort of know what I'm looking for but don't know titles haha. In games like Duel of Ages and Tannhauser you can create your own loadouts of weapons and equipment so I figured what other games could the community recommend in that similar area. My group really likes having variety and lots of characters, so naturally Tannhauser and Duel of Ages are hits. I am looking into Earth Reborn ( I'm hesitant because it looks intense, and I have issues with sometimes measuring for LOS in a few games, which is why I rarely play Tide of Iron anymore) Anyway, sorry to sputter on and on, I am looking for games with action, customizable characters and equipment and simple or semi conplex LOS rules. There was one game I remember seeing my last year of college with different fighters in an arena, there were like Russian merc guys, and a Yakuza member, and a dude who wore brass knuckles, and the main draw was outfitting the characters and tactical movement. It was on dicetower years ago and I cannot remember the name and honestly it is driving me up the wall Sorry sorry sorry wall of text over.

Thanks all.

Earth Reborn isn't the best pick for a game like this. There are a lot of items in the game that characters can discover by searching, but the characters themselves have a standard setup at the beginning of scenarios and the customization is only a small part of the game.

Take a look at two new releases, Zombicide and Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition), along with some non-boardgame minis rules like Song of Blades and Heroes (rules available as a pdf, and are really inexpensive) or Mordheim: City of the Damned (rules are free on the Specialist Games section of the Games Workshop website).

What about Wiz Wars? That's highly customisable in terms of building your deck.
