Is this the case? Also can you buy mounted boards and replacement die separate?

Yes to both.

I recommend you download the 3rd edition rules from GMT. They are much better.

Mounted maps are still available at some online retailers.

Valley games, I believe, is sold out of their light wooden dice but you can check. If they are, drop me an IM as I have a ton of dice.

Indeed, if you have a 1st edition unstickered (the die at least) do NOT use the dice that come with it. You can get blank dice easy that are much better.

Like sduke, I have a lot of dice for this game, but the ones I 'made' right after 1st edition came out are still some of my favorites, for size and weight.
