At the start, each player chooses ONE of the four explorers to use during the game. Each explorer's ability matches his historical exploits/achievements. The pictures of the explorers are below. Enjoy.
English inland explorer of the of the interior of Africa and the origin of the Nile River.
Count the points for ONE unfinished island on which you have the most scouts at the end of the game.
First modern European (Italian) to sail the vast Atlantic and discover America for the Europeans.
Once during the game, you may add an all-water tile anywhere possible from the reserve pile just before your turn.
Your ship need not start on the all-water tile you just placed.
The Spaniard who explored the northern part of South America and conquered the Incas.
At the end of the game, you may count one completed, tied island as if it were yours. The island must have at least one token from each player on it.
Vasco da Gama:
A Portuguese sailor who was the first European to find a way to India and China by sailing south around the Cape of Good Hope of Africa, effectively making the Middle East's lucrative Silk Route a thing of the past.
Once during the game, you may use a three-route tile from the reserve instead of drawing a tile.
