I'm not a huge Biden fan, but a) I don't see a replacement out there who would totally captivate voters and b) as a result, I don't think the political hit of dropping Biden would be worth it.

Funny - A friend of mine recently said the best insurance policy Pres. Obama had against assassination was VP Biden. I guess it is a common thought.

Funny how republicans talk about Obama's assassination a lot.

Lefties would have been terrified to assassinate GW lest the Dark Lord take over.

Maybe they would be, but I've never met a lefty that talked about the assassination of a seated president of the united states. They are the freely elected leader of our beloved country. I didn't like Bush, but I never thought about him being assassinated or killed off...voted out yes, but shot through the head with my constitutionally protected assault rifle?

No. That's just typical right wing craziness.

You do not think Hillary Clinton would motivate voters? Especially female voters?

Obama already does very well with women and Romney does very poorly, I don't think that's a big concern for the campaign. I also don't know that Biden is considered a huge electoral liability. Just from a common sense/everyday experience point of view, have you ever heard anyone say they'd vote for Obama if it wasn't for Joe Biden?

Really? Lefties made fantasy assassination porn about Bush in the form of a film. You should pay more attention.

Yeah, that was a Birtish film. European hate is something we don't have much control over. And even I as a liberal American found it in poor taste.

I had never heard of it until now.

So, other than all of those examples and a few protest signs I didn't post, I just can't find any evidence that lefties referenced assassinating Bush at all, even in jest. You are quite wise Chapel.

And it only took you an hour of googling...I just needed to come to RSP to find the opposite.

You're wrong, Chapel, and the fantasies you entertain about "typical" craziness being a right-wing phenomenon are wrong. Delusional extremism knows no political bounds.

Except on one side, it is extremism, and on the other side, it's everyday water cooler talk. I'm not wrong, but you guys keep telling yourselves otherwise. Proof is this very thread, where it was talked about twice before I even got here.

Normally you seem like a reasonable guy, Chapel, but this is a weird hill to die on.

What the fuck are you talking about? Who has talked about assassinating Obama in this thread?

It's all subtext, BJ. Read between the lines. When Ken says "I love how these conversations always go" what he means is "KILL KILL KILL."

Well I know that because of my secret Rovian decoder ring. I didn't know you guys were on to us though.

We've been on to you for a while. It's just taken some time to get the drones in place for our targeted strike.

Wait, does this mean now I'm joking about assassinating people?

Should VP Biden be dropped from the Democratic ticket?
Yes, Pres Obama should drop him.
Yes, VP Biden should withdraw himself.
No, Keep him on the ticket.

Poll created by N/A

Keep him on the ticket, not because he's qualified, not because he is genuine, not because he's even a "good person who is trying really, really hard." Keep him on the ticket because he adds hilarity to my day, and I will be sad to see him go after the election. But only a little sad.
