The game Bull in a China Shop now shows as Quietville.

While based on the same source idea, Quietville has different theme, rules, artwork, components, and contains an expansion.

In short, it's a completely new game, as established by previous BGG standards (see Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico Deluxe for just one of many examples).

Please separate Quietville off to a new entry.

Yep. Should always be a new entry by default. Easier to merge than split.

But adding in expansions does not make a new game, as established by previous BGG standards (see 1830: Railways & Robber Barons for just one of many examples).

I am not familiar with the game, but if true this seems pretty clear cut.

But in this case the rules are different. It would be like merging chess and checkers because they're both played on an 8x8 board and both involve capturing your opponent's pieces.

Sounds like a case for "Reimplemented by", or whatever the kids are calling it these days.

This is barking up the wrong tree. If this is going to be changed, then someone who knows the game needs to put a short case together and email Scott. He is a very reasonable guy. Add a link to this thread too.

You can't really expect Scott to find every thread in BGG can you?
