We just started getting into board games with our children. We are wondering if having sleeves for the cards are a good idea? For instance, we have 7 Wonders, For Sale, Killer Bunnies, Ticket to Ride, Castle Panic, and Settlers of Catan. Is there benefit to getting sleeves? Does doing so protect them from bending? Or is it only to prevent fading/scratching/edge wear? And where to get them? We'd prefer Amazon (prime members) but we want what will do the best (if they are worth getting). Thanks.

Welcome Prim! Card sleeves will protect your cards from spills and greasy fingers, but they can still be bent. The down side is that they will make your decks much bulkier and they tend to be smooth and slippery, so for some people it makes cards easier to shuffle, for other people, they have to learn to shuffle in a new way.

The main thing to keep in mind us that cards (and hence sleeves) are not all the same size! You will have to pick sleeve sizes that your cards will fit in. This info gets posted and discussed here on BGG every so often, so first, take a look at these links:

Once you know what size works for your game, you can see if Amazon sells them.

I'm not familiar with Killer Bunnies or Castle Panic. Of the others, I would only consider sleeves for 7 Wonders. The rest will work fine for a long time without sleeves.

I wouldn't spend the money on sleeves for Killer Bunnies. Those cards have a resilient finish that should more than suffice.
