No funny business such as quadrupling your money on Intrade. Strictly how much is it worth to you to have your candidate in office?
Poll
Assume the polls are showing a dead heat on election day. How much of your own money would you give up to guarantee your preferred candidate of Obama and Romney wins the POTUS election?
Nothing
$1-100
$101-$1000
$1001-$5000
$5001-$10,000
$10,001-$100,000
More than $100,000

I must have out-Davided David. But since it's a straight-up hypothetical question based on a couple of unlikely and/or impossible premises, I didn't have any problem maxing out.

I probably should have gone higher than I did. I think the value of an obama presidency will be worth more than 5k to me.

So I retroactively change my vote to 10k.

Wouldn't be worth 100k to me... I think. Hmmm.

to be SURE he would win.

hmmm.

No problemo -

Dan? This is you. Unfailingly accurate. Consistently missing the fun.

I have a hard time answering this because of the ambiguity of "guarantee". If I could persuade enough swing voters to vote, that's one thing -- but I care more about the democratic process than I do about any one election, so if I literally had the power to buy the outcome I wouldn't.

Yeah, I read that. I was just explaining my top-level vote. Not trying to spoil whatever drops of "fun" you were trying to squeeze out of Jarred's poll. whistle
