My 2-year-old daughter hasn't seen us play a lot of g*mes - she's usually in bed while we're playing. However, today we got Stone Age out with some friends while she was having her nap, and she woke up before the end, so she got to see a bit. I showed her a die, and tried to get her to count the pips, but there was too much else going on.

The best bit, though, was this: My wife was rolling two dice for resources, and got a 2 and a 1. My daughter immediately commented: "Mommy doesn't have any polka dots!"

I love little moments like this that often lead to a family's unique gaming 'slang' for certain situations. It was a similar incident (although with older kids) that led to whoever is coming last in a game with a score track being referred to as 'the slag' in our house...
