I will be telling my wife she has to step it up next year to try and compete. Here was my Blood Bowl block dice cake from a few years ago:

I'm envious. My birthday was just last week and my wife was very good to me. I scored a copy of Battlestar Galactica. I also very much enjoyed my cake (shown here) and yet, now....

Happy Birthday KK!

I fear you've given Rob all sorts of ideas, and my own baking skills are sadly lacking... shake

Great cake! Today is my birthday, and the wife didn't gripe about me playing yesterday or my plans to do so again next week. Eh...It's something.

That's very clever!!

Just two questions....

1. What the heck is a dice tower
2. Why the heck would you use one?

You might notice an aluminium foil thing sticking out of the top of the tower. That is actually an aluminium foil covered cardboard tube that forms the hollow middle of the tower to keep it stable. So the dice roll through the tube and out the hole cut at the bottom without touching cake at all.

To make the dice tumble, there are little toothpicks stuck through the tube at various intervals.

I guess you could have used fondant, but I'm not sure how the dice would have reacted tumbling against it.

1. It's just like that cake, although not usually made of cake.
2. Possible reasons include: for fun, stops cheating, prevents dice getting lost under chairs/ knocking gaming pieces everywhere & to show off wife's cakemaking artistry.

Very impressive!

Maybe you'll get a new fridge magnet for your birthday... you seem to be lacking there.
