I just ordered a bumper sticker that says simply "Wargamer". Is this a good idea that might fetch me an opponent or two in the next couple of years? Or is this a bad Idea that will get my windshield broken by a rabid peacenick?

(BTW some one PM me on how to do Polls? Couldn't see a button that says Like "Do a Poll".)

This sounds like a good idea to me. I have thought of getting a hat made. You never know. Maybe one of those rear window decals, like a tank with the word wargamer under it. Oh!!! how about that pisser kid going on a euro.

Hindsight is 20-20 and is more reliable. I say go for it as long as you consider your own reaction to the many bumperstickers out there on topics you might not understand.

The real issue with "Wargamer" is whether or not non-opponent people will even understand it. We are a niche hobby that most people are not even aware of.

When most people hear I am a wargamer for the first time. They assume I'm talking about paintball. I'm too old and fat to play paint bal

My truck tag.

I covered over the little renewal sticker that is bought every year with a small piece of cardboard.

As a peacenick wargamer, I have to say that I'm very conflicted. I wouldn't know whether to smash your window in or invite you to play No Retreat! The Russian Front. I guess it'd depend on whether your car has locking ZOC and whether or not I pass my morale check.

If you would invite ME to a game of No Retreat! The Russian Front I for sure would smash your windshield...

Skip,

I bow in awe before you.

Sadly we're here in Germany can't have these cool license-plates.

I would be perfectly happy to play No Retreat! The Russian Front but you would have to drive to Medford. I don't travel well.

Peaceniks breaking windshields makes no sense.

This Memorial Day weekend, do not thank a veteran. Say a prayer of thanks for those in our military who gave their last full measure of devotion, and all their tomorrows, so that we could enjoy today and all OUR tomorrows.

Maybe a different bumper sticker might work better. How about one of the following:

"So many wargames, so little time!"
"I brake for Cardboard"
"I'm driving erratically because I'm trying to read the rules to my new wargame"
"My other car is an M4 Sherman VC Firefly"
"Beware of Wargamer"
"Got Cardboard?"
"Case Blue -- The answer to all life's wargaming questions"

And finally, the ever popular:
"I play with myself"

There must be others...

OK, then I would wait next to your car with a hot coffee and we could start a game right there (I assume you would have all of the ASL - stuff in your trunk, right?).
