My favorite film from back in my younger days is Big Trouble in Little China. One of the great thrills years ago was after the film getting to meet Victor Wong who played Egg Shen in the film several times. We both were doing volunteer work for the local PBS station in Sacramento and he was a wonderful gentleman.

When we got our new house last year my wife and I got the idea of turning one of the spare bedrooms into a reading room. Basically we needed a place for our rather hefty collection of books so we've lined one of the bedrooms with bookshelves (most of which are now filled with my civil war books). When we started the project I told her I wanted to decorate the room with a few framed movie posters. She shot my idea down in flames with the comment "Yeah if you want it to look like a kids room".

This morning my wife surprised me with a framed Big Trouble in Little China movie poster for the reading room. WOOT! Just need to come up with a second movie poster for the room and it's finished.

Loved it!

By the way, the guy who actually wrote the script for Big Trouble in Little China (although he only was credited for adapting it) is the same guy who directed Buckaroo Banzai. W.D. Richter.

What do you think? Would my wife let me put these up? Likely not. She's not much of a fish person.

The one I got for my room in college was:

It was the UK poster for the Temple of Doom. Which was almost as bad as the Crystal Skull in terms of Indiana Jones movies. However I did really like the poster.

I also had a variety of star wars posters up as well. But this was one I actually bought. If I had a man cave of my own, i'd have this up in a flash.

I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am.

Our townhouse has a short hallway off the living room that leads to the half-bath, a closet, and the door to the basement. Here is the poster that's hanging at the end of the hall:

Then this pre-release poster is hanging on one side wall:

And finally, I have this metal sign hanging on the door to the basement:

Last time I watched it (when I got the trilogy on DVD) I had a hard time getting through it... Ok, it wasn't near as bad as Crystal Skull, but it was still pretty terrible. Although a lot of people I know hate the Last Crusade, I personally quite enjoy that one.
