I think it was the last email update from GMT that had a blurb about it. (Maybe 2 emails ago?) I think they are archived on the website. Ben is working on this as well as something else, now that he is back from deployment.

But go over there instead of trusting my lousy memory!

I know I will get "Part 2", but I have a long way to go before I exhaust Part 1 thats for sure!

It will have three campaigns like volume I: WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Volume II is focused on the 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. The campaigns are: WWII - Peleliu - September 1944; Korea - Chosin Reservoir - November to December 1950; Vietnam - Hue City - February 1968.

New features:
For the US Marines:
*4 Step squads
*flamethrowers, both man portable and vehicle mounted
*demolitions
*amphibious tractors aka amtracs
*expanded company staff

For the rules:
*Critical hits with grenade attacks and concentrate fire attempts
*streamlined prisoner handling
*streamlined pyrotechnics
*different experience expenditure options
*urban warfare

New enemies:
*Imperial Japanese
*Communist Chinese Forces

Is this thought to "retrofit" Volume I or will both volumes have different rules?

I know this might be asking too much, but one thing I'd love to see (maybe as an article) is a system for DIY scenarios or a guideline about how to design a campaign. (I have no military training so I'm a bit at loss here)

I remember a new rules revision on the work (at least from a year, I think). Will it be included in the "2" version?

I would like to see a more developed campaign system in new FoF.
Generally more interesting decisions between missions.
If the new FoF is just going to be much more of the same then I'll have no incentive to buy it. And I love the first one.

Here are some ideas/dreams:

- Choosing missions. Results that have impact on whole campaign condition. Interesting victory conditions for the campaigns. Random campaign conditions for re playability.

- Resource management and customization. I'd like to recruit and arm my guys myself.

- Also more distinct missions. Random conditions and secondary objectives perhaps.

- More of a challenge in general. Reward for good and sometimes risky play. The original rewarded patience too much, was too easy and performance in a single mission didn't really have an impact on the whole campaign (unless performed extremely poorly).

I get the whole historical aspect of the game, but it turns out pretty abstract and random anyway. I'm here for the game play and excitement.
Gimme. : P

and a lot of aditional pinned counters... in korea i had to hand-made some ones.

the new box of fof looks great. i'm dying of impatience... blush

ben, will "fields of fire 2" come before another little expansion (like the "mission+cards" pack or "mission+counters" pack)?

best regards!
