Hi all - played our first game last night and we found the market, played without refreshing each turn ended up going to 'ones' and staying that way.

For the later parts of the game, we tried refreshing it each turn and found it a bit more exciting.

Why does the market not get refreshed? Anyone else see this?

Why are none of you taking cards from the market? I've played this a number of times. The lower cards get taken pretty regularly, as they're the easiest to make a set with.

With three ones out there you need one more for a 4-set, and two for a 5-set. It gets even better if you have a merchant that allows to treat any card as a joker for a 1, a 2, or a 3. That's pretty damn easy picking, if you ask me, especially if noone is interested in the market, and your own hand is just crappy stuff. Plus there is also a trader-development which gives you cash if you succeed in creating a set of equal numbers in the market, or a set of sequential numbers.

In other words: play more! The market will get used as you all gain more experience.
