the MK 20 weapon is a cluster type bomb...if you notice it's attack value is in parentheses [6]. This weapon is used for all enemy units in the same hex as your aircraft. You roll for EACH ENEMY UNIT once using the same single MK 20 counter (plus any modifiers). I'll assume that there were 2 enemy units in the hex the aircraft was attacking, thus the 2 d10...

Hi from Germany,

in the example, VIPER releases two Mk.20 at the same time against the same hex. That's why each target in the hex (in this case #6) suffers two 1d10 rolls. The number of dice rolled for Mk.20 has nothing to do with the number of targets in a hex as each target will suffer an attack by a Mk.20.

Examples:
1 target in hex, 1 Mk.20 dropped: 1d10 against the single target.
2 targets in hex, 1 Mk.20 dropped: 1d10 against each of the two targets.
4 targets in hex, 3 Mk.20 dropped: 3d10 against each of the four targets.

Cluster bombs are no fun for those receiving them.

Cheers
U.L.H.

Hex Attack [x]: Roll an Attack against all the Units in the
Hex.

Example: When you drop a Mk.20 in a Hex, roll an
Attack against each Unit in the Hex.
