Some of you may know that I run the Poker and Tichu tournaments at BGG.CON (among other duties...

I've had a couple of requests for a duplicate bridge tournament, or at least an afternoon or an evening. I played a fair amount of duplicate a few years ago so I'm naturally interested.

I'd like to gauge how much additional interest is out there. Based on my schedule (if I run it) it would likely be Wed. or Thurs. evening. Of course if someone else runs it, it could be any other time, but there are always other conflicts. There's no guarantee that this years schedule will be an exact copy of last years, but it's usually pretty close. Check here for likely competing events:
BGG.CON 2011 - Official Schedule

Please vote in the poll below to indicate your interest and preferred time.

Poll
I'm at least 80% sure I would play in a duplicate bridge event at one of the following times. (Vote for multiple times, but only one will be put on the schedule.)

See this text? It's a gratuitous waste of GeekGold.

The game itself isn't important. Spending time intellectually jousting with likeminded folks is the real reason to game.

I haven't played bridge consistently since I was a pre-teen but I miss the game greatly. I'd love to play if (a) I found a partner and (b) that partner didn't mind terribly that their partner was incredibly rusty.

BGG.CON events are always more about the fun than the winning. We would certainly allow singles to sign up and then pair them upon starting.

To add some actual content:

Anything that isn't the same time as the poker tournament would probably work. And if you're running both this and poker, then that wouldn't happen anyway.

Also, if you need a hand directing or otherwise running the event, I'm happy to volunteer. I'm not an officially sanctioned director, but I know the Laws pretty well.

I should clarify that I'm not an officially sanction director either, and this would not be an official ACBL event. I'm happy to let someone else run it - I just thought someone needed to get the ball rolling...
