Do you love spells and artifacts? Are you bored of crushing a city and its poor guardians with an over-powered night spell? Do your units... slow you down?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be a mage-knight-a-holic. You may also enjoy the refreshing change of pace offered by a solo game of dungeon lords (an official rulebook variant).

Setup:
7 countryside tiles,
1 city tile (the blue one)
1 non-city tile (the desert one with a tomb & monastery).

The blue city is friendly, put a token on it.

Whenever you reveal a tile with a village or monastery, put a dungeon creature/dragon face down next to it, acting as a dungeon/tomb.

You have 3 days and 2 nights to conquer all dungeons and tombs. Without units. Oy. Well, you get units, but they won't help you fight most of the battles. But think of the power... every win gives you another spell, artifact, or both. Your deck gets thick, fast. Mage Knight Viagra.

I personally found this to be an easier scenario (compared to say, mines liberation), but more fun. My first score with Arythea was 197.

Go forth, secure the dungeons, and post thy scores!

Are there any solo rules for mines liberation? I found that I don't have enough time when using the 2 player setup. Only managed to liberate 3 mines after 2 days and 2 nights.

After trying 3 or 4 times playing (and failing) Mines Liberation, I thought this one would be more difficult...and I was scared. D snowMan, thanks for pushing me into it.

I did 240 in total:

Tovak (Goldyx as dummy)
Map tiles - 2 8 1 5 4 9 7 *1* *6*
Fame (before final scoring) - 104
1 round unplayed
11 dungeons/tombs conquered

Loots:
10 artifact (2 of them were thrown away)
7 spells
6 advaced action
8 crystals

Regarding final scoring, I didn't added conquered cities bonus and I used 4 fames per conquered dungeon/tomb.

Edit: PS: Sometimes I forgot to take rewards from dungeons ( and took it later). So, as I missed some rules, don't take my scoring too serious

I posted what is probably closest to the official rules for solo mines liberation here:

I played this scenario tonight and really enjoyed amassing artefacts and spells. I finished with one dungeon unconquered. It was revealed on the final day and I couldn't get to it in time as it was across some desert tiles. I lost some time mid-game managing my wounds, of which I accrued many! Looking forward to trying again.

Played Dungeon Lords solo yesterday with Tovak (skillful help provided by Wolfhawk).
By the end of Night 2 I had already conquered 10 dungeons/tombs - only 1 tomb remaining.
I used day 3 to conquer almost everything which was left on the map (except for one far away Mage tower and one Keep) before turning to that last tomb.
I actually ran out of shield tokens to mark all of my conquests - even including the extra shields from Lost Legion.
My final score was 270.
That scenario really feels like "Mage Knight on steroids".

Tried it today and it was really fun. Excellent power-up feeling, and faster than usual solo game. That allows to use those rather rare artifacts.
Failed to reach the last dragon ennemy, because I had a really bad surprise the tomb before: Ice dragon with paralyse: a full hand+2 cards discarded because tovak didn't have enought fire block.

A refreshing experience.

I have Lost Legion expansion, and decided to keep the tiles out of the gam. But may they be used in this scenario, with labyrinth considered as part of the mission?

Tried it solo on Vassal and it was great! My final score was 172 with Arythea, though I made a few mistakes:
- I had one extra core tile to explore.
- I had forgotten, as usual, to draw that extra card when near the blue city.
- I had forgotten to pay the 2 move points, in addition to 1 move point / space, to move between conquered dungeons/tombs.
- I recruited one unit in the first round, which I obviously never used. It was eventually sacrificed to an Ice Dragon to pay for his disobedience.

I find Arythea and probably Tovak very strong in this scenario, due to their Wound management skills. Norowas is probably very weak, especially if he doesn't draw his "Bonds of Loyalty" skills.
