I just saw a picture of it on the net and it looked totally home made...and not even by someone talented, it´s horrible for a professional product.
Were all minis of the later sets this bad?
Did WotC loose some critical staff in designing or did they just not care for quality anymore, because the knew the license would be dropped anyway?

At what point did you stop collecting? I can't remember which set the horrible 501st fellow came out in, but, yeah, there were some real stinkers as the sets went on.

But don't think that they all were like that. There are a heck of a lot of figures from the later sets that have awesome sculpts and poses and paintjobs. There was certainly a small but growing over time number of botch-ups though. Heck, the first Sandtrooper's blaster rifle was a soft plastic nightmare and his helmet was large enough that he constantly suffered from Dark Helmet of Space Balls references. What was more annoying in the last year or two of the game was that the Rares and Very Rares were no longer immune to bad sculpts/paintjobs/poses. It was bad enough when an occasional common or uncommon suffered from poor quality control, but an R or VR? Dang, that sucked!

The 501st stormtrooper is one of the worst if not the absolute worst. One of the early Leias is just about as bad, but in general the minis are way better than that.

A few of the later Stormtroopers were pretty bad. Clone Trooper were not much better. But at least most Rare & Very Rare figures had some effort going into them.

Yeah I would say it's been down hill ever since Clone Strike, where a handful (or more) from each set were horrendous. Most the Clone Troopers were the biggest disappointments, but also the out of scale guys, like the Sandtrooper or new Gammorean Guard.
