The Pre-registration deadline for EuroQuest III is coming up. Rates go up on Nov. 1. For more details check out the following website:

http://euroquest.gamesclubofmd.org

The hot new Essen game (recently added to the Wild Card event) is Caylus. This will probably be the first opportunity for people to play this highly acclaimed Essen release (already up to #9 on the BGG list) in a competitive type format. Also, people waiting to make hotel reservations should be advised that rooms for the Days Hotel are sold out for Friday and Saturday evenings. For some alternatives nearby, check out post #590 on the EQ discussion folder at ConsimWorld (see below):

Well, good thing we got the hotel yesterday! We were a little on the fence, since we will barely have recovered from BGG.CON, and won't be able to take any time off from work, but we'll be there late Friday. We didn't go last year (it would have been our first time), and I wish we had...

Now, we just have to mail off the pre-registration checks on Monday!

Thanks for the interest, Tom. I have heard it through the grapevine that the reason for the room shortage is that, in addition to EQ gamers, there is another group that has booked some rooms at the hotel for the same time period. Thus, while those of us who are EQ organizers are hoping for a boost in attendance this year, and it may be a bit crowded at times, hopefully it will not overwhelm the facilities and everyone attending will have plenty of opportunity to game and have a great time. We hope the announcement of some Essen games will also add to the interest.
