Boba Versus Han: The Capture
This is the first skirmish in a four-skirmish custom campaign.
(Part 2 - The Rescue)
(Part 3 - Fleeing from Boba Fett)
(Part 4 - Final Confrontation)
Boba Fett is a bounty hunter, and Han Solo has a hefty bounty on his head. Han and several of his friends in the Rebellion are relaxing a local bar on a non-descript planet. It’s a place Han has visited regularly in the past, and he is friendly with the bartender and other patrons. Fett has tracked him to this location. Now that Han lacks the security of being surrounded by dozens of Rebel Troopers, Boba Fett is ready to strike with his band of Mandalorian allies.

Han is at the bar with Leia, Chewie, and a Rebel Trooper who joined them (out of uniform). They are talking with the bartender while Luke is at a table with the droids. A few other patrons (ugnaughts and grans) are also in the bar. The Mandalorians cover all four possible exits, and Boba Fett himself prepares to burst in.
Boba Fett notices immediately that his communications with his team have been jammed. He has dealt with that pesky droid before – and immediately flies in to take care of his R2-D2 problem.
The Rebels immediately realize what is going on, and Luke springs into action to prepare an exit. He rushes into the adjacent garage where he finds two Mandalorians who quickly fall to the ground.
The Gunsmith sees what is happening, and he overrides the door to the garage so that it closes, sealing off the escape route.
The door doesn’t stay closed long, though, as one of the Ugnaughts in the cantina knows just how to open a door. One small explosion on the door panel permanently opens the door.
The Mandalorians at the east entrance mercilessly clear the room of the other patrons.
Han runs out into the garage, hoping to make it to safety.
Rebels win initiative.
Han is able to run out to the street before Boba Fett can corner him in the garage. However, Boba Fett takes a shortcut through an abandoned Command Center and finds him in the street.
The bartender and Rebel Trooper rush to Han’s side to serve as bodyguards. Boba Fett has only one ally nearby, as the others are in the eastern street, being held off by Chewbacca and Luke.
Chewie says he and Leia can handle things, and Luke turns his attention to the Gunsmith in the Command Center.
Han tries to escape Boba Fett, but the stun bolts get him, even though a friend throws himself in front of the bolts to shield him for a second.
The Mandalorians from the eastern street try to prevent Chewbacca from getting involved, but they are less than successful.
Unable to slow down Chewbacca, the Mandalorian is at least able to take a bodyguard out of the equation.
Chewbacca reaches the street to find his friend Han lying unconscious at Boba Fett’s feet. He quickly scoops Han up and starts carrying him to safety. Boba Fett takes shots at the Wookiee and causes a lot of damage, but not enough to stop him. Luke and Leia catch up to them when Fett causes Chewie to drop Han.
Mandalorians win initiative.
Fett swoops in, throws Han onto his shoulder and takes off with his jet pack.
Meanwhile, in the chaos, Boba Fett’s Ugnaught friend takes the opportunity to salvage some droids.

This skirmish was the first time I had used one of the Epic characters. The Epic Boba Fett (136 points) isn't really designed for a normal skirmish like this, but I wanted to try it out and my opponent was fine with it. Here are the stats for Boba Fett, Mandalore:
Boba Fett, Mandalore
Unique, Flight, Evade, Twin Attack
Hunter (After setup, choose one of the following: a specific faction, Unique enemies, Droid enemies, or enemies with a Force rating. This character get +4 Attack, +10 Damage versus the chosen targets.)
(A couple other abilities that didn't come into play in this skirmish.)
Mandalorian Allies gain Twin Attack
Yes, he's pretty ridiculous, but keep in mind that he's 136 points... almost as much as the entire Rebel squad combined. He doesn't leave room for much else in the squad.
He got the job done in this skirmish, but it literally came down to the last initiative roll. If the Rebels had won initiative, Leia could have picked up Han and left the map with him, securing victory for the Rebels. Leia's Diplomat ability would have prevented an Attack of Opportunity from Boba Fett. Although if Luke or Chewbacca had tried it, the Attack of Opportunity would have killed them.
