Not about board games per se but here's an article about the Kickstarter stats page that has real data about successes and failures.
And don't shoot the messenger (*cough* that means you, Jason! *cough*) I haven't even read the article yet but I know this topic is of interest to many of you.
Apologies if it's already been posted.
Very interesting Article. The prediction of success chart was someting I have not seen and I really liked the maps of regions that produce and get funded. I live in the Chicago area so it is cool to see the Chicago seems to do quite well. Infact, quite a few projects lately have been from my area including my own, Plague the card game. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1243534184/plague-the-ca...
Recent games from the Chicago area include:
DungeonCraft: Hero vs Guardian
I'm The Boss
Blood Red Sands
Sid Sackson's Signature Collection
War of Currents
Defenders of the Realm: Battlefields
Solitaire for Two
Titan's of Industry
These are just in the past 3 months. Pretty cool. Other cities I saw a lot of games coming out of were Atlanta, Portland, and Austin.
