Subject: First turn NON green-bordered cities. rss

On the FIRST round of the game, is there any rule stopping the second player from placing a road off of the first player's just-founded city and then founding a non green-bordered city off of that road.

If this is possible, the starting player seems to be at a disadvantage since it would be impossible for her do do such a first turn move.

It may seem like the first player is at a disadvantage but it's only the first move in a very tactical game.

Everything about the game is bass-ackwards. You want other people connecting your cities/markets to things. Admittedly, if they are able to get a spot that will be able to help dominate a bunch of oracles, that's not great, but one city, on the edge of the board isn't going to determine the winner.
