Yes, your wargame collection is sitting there with titles you've never played. So, how far back in time is the dustiest game in your collection that you bought and have never setup on your table?

This one here: Brandy Station by Rand, and I just obtained that last May, while I am hesitant to "punch out" such, since I'm veering toward a REMAKE for their counters instead. cool

Operation Market Garden (1973) and I believe it's still unpunched.

In 1965 I bought AH Waterloo. Thanks to my mother, she never threw it out and I still have it today. Granted, I've bought pieces to fill-in here and there.
Because I played the S out of it for 10 yrs until I went to college.

Now if she had just kept my Baseball cards cry

Ambush!

I don't think the paragraph-driven solitaire system holds up for me anymore.

Although I'd still like to get through a game or two sometime in the future if only to say I gave it a go.

When TEOTWAWKI happens, those two mint copies will be worth a fortune.

Gonna guess CA. Recent acquisition.
Dunno why I bought it really (fair price). There could well
be another older one kicking around though.

Ironic. This was the first game from SPI I ever saw being played, and what convinced me to subscribe to S&T, that same year.

Bought this one about 15 years ago, looked it over, read the rules and never got it to the table. Maybe after I retire...

Of the unplayed games still on my shelf (as opposed to having been sold or traded away), I guess The Civil War is the oldest. I bought a copy when it was relatively new, but a few years later I sold it, unpunched. Now I have a replacement copy, but the most I've done with it is glance at the components and skim part of the rules.

I seem to have lost the patience for playing a game that big and long and complex. I love the subject, but I just can't psych myself up for the experience. I end up playing A House Divided instead if I'm determined to play an ACW game. That or The Ironclads.

Picked this one up in the late 90's. I was "wargame-curious" at the time and the rules to this bad boy turned me off for years.

I still have the game which is unpunched for the most part.

Still want to play it in the worst way.

SPI's "The Battle of Moscow" from 1970. I can't imagine why I haven't played this one!

I have "Leipzig" also, but I think my version is from 1972. This one, too, is unplayed.

(What is wrong with me?)

Man, I LOVED "Wolfpack." A highlight of my early adulthood was a trip through the captured German sub at Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry. (If that doesn't make me a geek, I don't know what will!)

Oh man, you've gotta do yourself the favor of at least playing
around with the first scenario. The core mechanics are really worth
seeing in action.

I have copies of Musket & Pike, Caesar's Legions, and the original Thirty Years War quad I haven't played. Of course, those came out before I was born, so it's not like I bought them new. (They entered the collection about six months ago.) I'm pretty sure I've played every game I've bought before 2010 or so.

Surely anyone born before 1960 has an unplayed SPI magazine game from the 1970s?
