Whats your favorite side so far and why? What is your favorite squad/ability/droid/weapon combo? For me it is def Rebels. Thier ships are morte sturdy and they seem to be less forgiving when a mistake is made. I only have 2 core sets so far so my squads are limited. Love to hear what others are thinking so far though.

Backstabber in a TIE.

I love that guy. Can't play without him.

I played the TIE fighters once, now I cannot seem to play anything else...

*Ghostly image of Yoda* "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

Damn. I am screwed. I love attrition style warfare.

+1

how can you say the very same i was about to say?????

Its probably because the Tie Interceptor looks too damn cool and people are choosing their sides in anticipation of expansions.

I've only played Rebel so far, but in my game, I kept noticing places where my opponent should have barrel rolled but didn't. Now I find myself very attracted to TIEs and excited to use the Barrel Roll. I'll try out TIEs and the Y-wing for the first time tonight.

Ive played two games so far, both times as the Imperial Pilots. A fantastic 100 point squad Ive used:

Darth Vadar 29
+Swarm Tactics 2
+Cluster Missels 4
Gets 2 Actions

Maarek Stele 27
+Marksmenship 3
+Cluster Missels 4
Chooses the Critical Damage effect

Backstabber 16
Add 1 attack dice if outside of opponents firing arc

Winged Gundark 15
Convert 1 Hit to 1 Critical Hit

I had a lot of fun with this Squad. Use Darth with the Swarm Tactics ability in conjunction with Backstabber and his firing out of arc ability and boom, lots of dead X wings.

I haven't played the Rebel side yet, but there is something appealing in playing the flip side of who everyone roots for in the films.

Favorite pilot so far is Backstabber.

I have just played solitaire so far, but the Imps have won in a walk almost every time. I presume that I am just playing the Rebels poorly, but either way, has to be the Imps for me.

The vast and mighty empire is the underdog?

Seriously, I think the imperials are more popular because they are just better for their point cost.

Well, I've only played the Rebels so far, and they have one each match. Most of the Imperial builds are loners. An effective Rebel build need to take advantage of synergies.

For example

Biggs + F2
Dutch + R5 + torpedo + ion cannon
Horton + R5 + 2x torpedo + ion cannon

R2F2 gives Biggs an extra die, and keeps the Ties off of the more vulnerable Y-Wings. Dutch hands out free Target Locks, and Horton is a killer.

I was sure I would want to play the Rebels but I too have been drawn to the Dark Side devil

There's just something about a swarm.

It seems like the Empire is just better in this game. Their cheap cost combined with Evade is just disgusting. Who needs 3 attack dice when you can haphazardly run into the enemy and fire at point blank with half a dozen cheap TIEs.

I've played the Imperials twice, though I'd like to try the Rebels sometime.

We did a 3 player 100 point game with 2 players splitting the Imperials with 50 points each, and the Imperials won. Then played an 8 player game with 130 points per team with 4 players each side and the Rebels pulled off the win in that one. Seems like that if the Rebels can take out a couple Imperials early enough, it takes away the swarm benefit of the Imperials.
