so i am starting with this post:
few months ago i asked victory point games about a gold banner version, but they said, that nothing is planned in that way.

i think that is a pity, because its the only "light" ancient time war game around (exept c&c:A) - so in my opinion its worth to make a deluxe "ancient battles deluxe" version maybe with all the 5 expansions in it, updated solitare gameplay, bigger counters, better components,...in a nice gamebox!

what do you think?

One of my favorite games, but there would be a lot to do with all the expnsions. I would like to see the scenario cards redone like the samurai expansion. Those were beautiful.

I'd settle for just a set of laser-cut counters for all the expansions.

Peter,

I think you can expect a "Gold Standard" upgrade to ABD, but it's taking a lot of thought on how to do it, as there's just so much of ABD. As soon as we figure out how to go about it, I'll post here.

I don't think it could all be done in one package though. How much would such a thing cost? Or weigh...?

I dunno, but it would have to be delivered by trebuchet.

I'm looking forward to this, too. Maybe it could be split into 2 parts. DABD with the original and maybe the DYO expansion, and then the other expansions all in one pack. OTOH, "Series" gamers (ASL, PG, GBACW, GBoH, etc.) will probably keep buying each expansion as it comes out anyway.

Any developments on this? A gold banner version of ADB would be great.

AFAIK, it is "a good idea, many things ahead of it" at this point. I still think it should be called "Ancient Battles Deluxe Deluxe."

Is this project still under consideration?

Charles,

Yes, indeed. I just sent some ideas on how best to implement a gold standard edition to Alan yesterday.
