Subject: Why are there no 1 ducat notes? rss

The subject line basically covers my question, but it's confusing that this game should lack 1 ducat notes. It's weird to have to do all bidding in a minimum of 5 ducat increments.

I admit the five-as-minimum thing is a little weird, but you get used to it.

It's not so much so that I can lowball and bid 1 or 2 ducats for something- I'd rather have the luxury of bidding 18 or 23 ducats, for example.

I wasn't sure if there was a historical reason, or if it was a designer choice to speed up the game slightly.
