HI all,
I recently aquired a large amount of cards for rage 1st and 2nd edition.
I have been trying to wrap my head around the rule book but it is a bit vague in the combat phase.
Can anyone explain the combat phase in full terms that a beginer can understand?.

Also is the second edition easier/smoother or worth looking into?

thx all.

If you mean between Limited and Unlimited then they are pretty much the same aside from a few chard alterations and rules tweaks.

The Five Rings version though is essentially a new game.

Quote:
FRPG produced a new version of the game with the same card backs and set in the same world, but with completely different mechanics making it incompatible with the first version of the game. The second version of the game had seven card sets. The first 6 were numbered and released once a month. They were known as Phase 1 through 6. The final set, Equinox, combined together three of the smaller numbered sets (7-9) into one larger set.

You can find full revised rules here:
http://www.werepenguin.com/rage/rules/

You may want to start with the quickstart version of the rules:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/38352/illustrated-quic...

You can also play rage online using lackey:
http://www.lackeyccg.com/

Friday is usually the busiest day if you want an experienced player to teach you how to play. (Lackey has some preconstructed decks on it, so you can jump right in)
