Slowly and carefully, one figure at a time... gluing is not essential. I trimmed down the pins and glued just to be sure.

If you are planning on painting them I'd wash the sprues and then primer before removing the parts.

Don't cut any pieces until you're ready to assemble because you'll likely end up using a wrong arm somewhere.

Use a model sprue cutter, files to sand down the parts gently and a pair of small pliers (tape the tip so as to not leave any groove indents on the pieces)to help push the pieces together...that really helps and you will not need any glue.

I would still have glue on hand. I haven't needed it a lot, but once every so many miniatures something happens. One spear was broke even before I got to it.

Thanks for the advice!

Any idea on how to make sure it stays in the box and in good shape?

Everything in the box it comes in? I don't think you have any hope of pulling it off. There are storage solutions posted on here. Plano boxes and foam trays are common suggestions.

Yeah, it can be done. I've done it. There is a rise about an inch.
