game page mentions that the 2011 version allows more players.
I can't find anything that says what they've done to rules and/or deck to make that happen. Anyone know?

Maybe they switched to hexadecimal? That would introduce 18 additional cards between 3 and 35.

As best as I can tell with my rudimentary German, the only difference is that instead of 11 chips each, you hand out 9 chips each with 6 players, and 7 chips each with 7 players. (And incidentally, the "tactical" variant where the 10, 20, and 30 are known to be absent is not supported with 6-7 players.)
