As I delve deeper and deeper into BGG I keep finding all sorts of interesting links to game resources outside of BGG as well as geeklists and threads that contain useful information. And I've been updating my quickbar links to keep track of these wonderful resources. But I feel like as much as I explore there will probably be things I'll never find on my own. So I'm curious, what things have you found that you thought were important enough to put in your quickbar?

I use the left side for active G4GG geeklists and math trades. Right side is for commonly used links (I have the official Nightfall FAQ, my blog dashboard, my personal wantlist geeklist, the OLWLG tool and the Copycat Awesome Tool).

Geek Mod - Geek Stuff
Friendless Stats Site - Owned Childrens games
Want to Play - Thumbed (let's you get a page with a list of users who thumbed the page)
Owned Games - Ratings
Wish List - Game Plays

The link for friendless is - http://friendless.servegame.org/dynamic/index.html - My link is for my specific page

Thumbed is - javascript:(function(){url=location.href;
pos1=url.indexOf('/',location.protocol.length+2);pos2=url.indexOf('/',pos1+1);pos3=url.indexOf('/',pos2+1);
type=url.substring(pos1+1,pos2); id=url.substring(pos2+1,pos3);location=
'http://'+location.host+'/geekrecommend.php?action=whorecommends&itemid='+id+'&itemtype='+type;})();

EDIT: the :( is really a : then a (. There are a few enters so it doesn't screw up formatting, but those should just be removed.

Everything else is just quick links to pages on the geek or sub-sections of my collection.

For those who don't know... the Online Want List Generator (for math trades)
http://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/OLWLG

And what is the Copycat Awesome tool?

I'll add two of my own

Geek Pricing Tool

Board Game Prices
http://boardgameprices.com/

P.S. Nordlead, your post messed up the formatting of the page for me. I had to hide your post to get it back to something normal.

haha, sorry. The code snippet didn't wrap.... I don't know how else to share it though.

EDIT: added enters so formatting isn't broken.

The CAT is the tool used in G4GG raffles (games for geekgold) to choose the winners.

Also, you used to be able to use HTML entities to say things like : ( without it being turned into ( in this case either : as : or ( as ( ), but isn't working for me today for some reason.

I use it for links to games which are hard to find in the sometimes annoyingly broken search bar, since the search bar sometimes doesn't return games whose title exactly match my search time first in the list, but bury them much later in the list. E.g. SET and Formuła 1.

There's a "Disable emoticons" checkbox under the message editor. So I can do this :(

The quickbar item I use the most is labeled "My Recent Posts" and has the URL:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geekrss.php?geek=cbs42

You can replace my username at the end with any username, to see the most recent activity by a user. I find it helpful to keep tabs on the threads that I've most recently been involved with.

Yeah, but then you lose all emoticons. The HTML method allowed you to pick and choose which emotes would happen as well as give access to greater than / less than signs without breaking things.

Most of the links in my quickbar are related to the submitting games process:

Pending games so I don't submit anything that's already in the queue
Versions guidelines because I keep forgetting some of that stuff and I can never remember where to find that link
http://boardgamegeek.com/geekfeed.php?action=viewrecent&subd...[]Recently added games because I like to see what games have been newly added to the database (no idea how to link that one properly).

I also have My contributions and My GeekStuff quicklinked.

Another one that I frequently use is javascript:(function(){OBJ_TYPE='boardgamefamily';name=prompt('Search%20'+OBJ_TYPE,'');if(name&&name!='')location='/geeksearch.php?action=search&objecttype='+OBJ_TYPE+'&q='+name;})(); to search for game families.

one of the most frequently used items in my Quickbar is one I picked up several years ago ... from a similarly themed thread about "what's in your Quickbar".

The background is that you can subscribe to a particular thread once it has been established. You can also subscribe to a Game in order to be alerted when a new thread is established, but it might be a hassle to subscribe to every game you own.

This command
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geekfeed.php?action=viewrecent&...

finds recently created threads for me, as related to my Collection.

There is a way to get this off of the menu system (and then apply a filter instead of getting the universe of threads to wade through), but it will take me a little bit of time to relocate which menu

Also, I see Octavian has posted above without reporting this. It was he who posted this tip in that prior thread I mentioned. To help remind me of that origin, I included his name in the title box for my own Quickbar item.

This is my favorite so far. But it seems to show games I've rated, not just games in my collection.

submitting a rating or a commment puts games broadly into your "collection". Another stage of filtering available on the results page can reduce the population to "owned", or other atributes you select.

(and you can Quickbar the new URL with those filters active if that is your desire).
