They explained everything in detail and at great length. After they finished I sat, despondent, contemplating a bleak and empty future. "I’m glad you’re depressed" said one. "It means you’ve understood the situation.”

Ave atque salve Thrill Seekers.

Currently there is a Kickstarter for miniatures for the Judge Dredd miniatures game. Kickstarter details are here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1990654819/judge-dredd-m...

I have seen and painted a fair number of Mongoose products and they are quite reasonable in quality. In all honesty, probably not up to the standards of the Foundry range, but Foundry are both limited (No Judge Fear) and expensive - check 'em out here: http://wargamesfoundry.com/fantasy_ranges/single_packs/2000a...

To give you an idea of the Mongoose quality, here's three Judges I painted up a while ago:

Note this is not for the game rules itself (which can be downloaded for free here:http://www.wargamevault.com/product/88841/Judge-Dredd-Miniat...) but rather a slew of Mega City One related miniatures.

I am wondering if anyone else is interested in getting some of the miniatures and maybe spliting the big $300 "Council of Judges" set which includes 18 boxed sets for all factions currently in the game as well as, at the time of writing, 7 other different stretch goal rewards.

As far as I can tell, the faction sets are:

Justice Department
Ape Gang Box
Judge Caligula's Personal Retinue
Fattie Stampede
Sky Surfer Gang
Holocaust Judges
Cursed Earth Desperadoes
Street Gang
Renegade Robots
Angel Gang
Justice Department II
City Def
Zombie Horde
Dark Judges
Sov Invasion Force
Demonic Cabal
ABC Warriors
Specialist Judges

Here's a picture of 'em all: [urlhttp://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/boximages.jpg[/url] Note that some are at the conceptual stage an won't be released straight away.

Of course, some of the other stretch rewards are better than others; I'd rate the resin Pat Wagon above the Elec Cordon for instance. Then again, fans of electric fences might disagree with me.

So with all this stuff on offer this shared order would only work if we could agree on how to divide things.

At this stage the only items I am dead-set keen on acquiring are the Dark Judges and the Sov Invasion. Yep, I'm a merry sort of chap.

Once I get an idea of who (if anyone) is interested then we can work out if this is a go-er and how much each participant should contribute.

So, if you'd like to go in with this order please let me know soon. This is primarily directed at ACT (an other Australian) BGGers with the caveat that people outside the ACT will have to pay for postage to their location. Those outside Australia are also welcome to club in, but international postage may make it more expensive than just pledging directly (remember, free postage worldwide).

Oh yeah, all pledge levels are post free worldwide so that's nice just for the novelty of it.

The Kickstarter ends on 13 October 2012.

UPDATE: The next goal has been reached and there is also another box set on offer of "International Judges" - see just how silly the "Oz Judge's" uniform is.

Other stuff to (maybe) come includes Assassin Droids, Chief Judge Hershy and Nero then a variety of villians.

Update:

Well, I am indeed a weak, weak man.

Not only did I go for the 'Council of Judges' package, but I also picked up the Brit Cit Judges just because.

In the last 24 hours two more stretch goals have been met - some vehicles (only for the really expensive pledges ($500 & $950) and three more Heros of Mega City One.

As mentioned elsewhere, I am happy to sell/swap some of the boxed sets (not the Dark Judges or Soviet Judges though). If you're after a box or two GM me...

I wouldn't be too hard on myself were I you. I ended up pledging for Council of Judges too, and I'm pretty sure I'll have almost no chance in actually getting someone to play the game with me. But then, it won't be the only miniature game that I own like that either.

There were some great figures on offer, but I do think it was a little heavy in terms of the pledge levels. Council was probably the best value for the money, but it would have been nice to see some lower cost pledges (including Council) get some of the final stretch goals.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, I think the Mongoose strategy was to try to encourage those who had already pledged to up their pledge rather than attract new punters with more bonuses for the cheaper levels.

Council missing out on those vehicles was abit rough, but the extra box of bikers (I went for zombies) sweetened it somewhat.

I hoep you enjoy painting 'em and find an opponent to use 'em against.

You can also chalk me up as someone who pledged at Council of Judges even though I won't have anyone to play the game with. I managed to hold out for ages too but eventually caved as the prospect of having JD miniatures was just too good to pass up.
