Played the first quest on Friday.
I lost due to them getting awesome draw of characters (Nanok, Zyla, don't even have to mention the others) and with skills that just took away every negative thing with all the heroes.

I was wondering, what about just letting the monsters upgrade to Silver level when the heroes have opened a bronze chest, gold level when opened a silver chest and so on?

Mostly thinking about the original quests...

Would be too difficult. Plain quests (as opposed to campaign game) need a bit of tension, which is provided by the heroes not being allowed to jeopardize their initial CPs in the early game (where they aren't as strong as the monsters), then needing to make hay in prevision of the final encounter, which will surely cost some lives. Your suggestend amendment would unbalance things.

If you want to avoid fighting a perfect party (if such a thing exists), there is a solution : draw 15 characters, then the players pick one, the OL disallows one, the players pick two, the OL disallows one, the players pick one. Then they deal the heroes as they wish.
