I have a coworker who's getting into games as I introduce them to her.
So far, she likes Citadels, Condottiere, Cartagena and Bohnanza and a Chinese game similar to BANG!. She's looking for suggestions on what games to get next.

She doesn't like:
*Long games
*Complex mechanics
*No player interaction (where Everyone is trying to build their own thing) - she mentioned how ticket to ride was like this. The blocking of routes wasn't enough interaction for her.

She likes Citadels/Bang because of trying to figure out who would pick which character and try to attack the right one. she likes Mr Jack pocket because she likes to out-think the opponent. She likes Bohnanza because of the wheeling and dealing.

What would you guys suggest?

How about something like Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game?

And I am intrigued. What is this Chinese game similar to BANG!?

[edit: forgot my punctuation!]

Ii thing BSG is too long of a game for her. She looses attention pretty quickly, also the reason why complex games won't bode well. On the other hand, she's very smart and when playing bridge, she can remember who has what cards and can recall almost the whole play at the end.

I don't speak Chinese so I never played it, and surprised when I found the game here after a quick search: Legends of the Three Kingdoms

The Resistance has all the backstabbing and subterfuge of Battlestar Galactica without the fiddliness or long play time.

Long games

That reminds me of... practically every game I own

How many players? ...I'll assume there are just the two of you.

Fairy Tale - 2-5 pl. 30min - very quick drafting game. More the players, more the chaos, so you may have to also gauge the probability of getting the card you want.
With 2 players however you will see all the cards in the current draft (except the first, that the other player took) and the game becomes very tactical.
I don't play bridge but this game could be too simple maybe? I don't know...

Arcana (revised edition) - 2-4 pl. 45 min - trick-taking and bluffing. Very simple. Could be worth a try. But beware that there is some ambiguity with the rules (mainly the advanced, optional ones); it is not a problem if you house-rule one way of the other.

Ignoring for a moment these shortcomings, a game of this kind could be ok or there is something that doesn't fit? (And in that case, what would be?)

LOL. I thought of the same thing as I was typing that...

I don't think she would like Innovations because of all the symbols. Same reason why I don't think she likes Race for the Galaxy (and the fact that there's almost no player interaction).

She kinda likes Resistance, although this requires a lot of people to be good.

We're looking 2-5 player game.

I'll look at the other suggestions since I never played those before.

Aaaahh-nd in this case I'll add Fzzzt!, it has a 5/6 player expansion but I did play that just once. It is a bluffing and trick-taking game like Arcana (but they are different enough).
