Is 10 minutes the real duration of the game or is it a mistake?

Yup 10 minutes, played 3, 3 player games in 30 minutes today. Everyone left with the notion that they must buy the game. It really is a ton of fun, with and without the soundtrack.

Yep, 10 minutes per game. And I bet you can't stop at one game. My son and I played at least 6 times today, and he isn't a board game player.

Just don't play on an echo-y surface in a space where people expect quiet.

I played several 10 minute games for an hour and a half Friday. Started as two player, then a third said can I play next game? Sure! A fourth joined the following game.

Damned if we lost every single game, though! And every one ended with one final adventurer rolling for that last, elusive key on the exit tile!

We got it out for the first time yesterday, and literally lost track of how many times we played it over the day. Probably around 15. My shoulders were getting tired from constantly rolling dice when we were done.

My copy included a sand timer for noisy or enforced quiet areas. I have only played with the soundtrack timer myself.

Spinach and I played at a coffee house, the dice made more noise than anything else on the wooden tables.....looking back, it might have been a tad obnoxious. Still fun though. We did use the sand timer.

Next time bring a rubber playmat to put on the table. Not only will it deaden the noise, but it will cause the dice to settle faster, allowing for quicker rolls.

I'm glad I built three LEGO dice towers. They will come in handy for this game

Maybe I should build some more, hehe.

FYI, you do NOT want to use a dice tower with this game. WAY too slow. You would lose very badly.

Most of mine only have one slope, not three or four like most dice towers, so it would only be a fraction slower, with no risk of dice flying off the table.

I don't mean to be negative, but those fractions add up and will be crucial in the game. I still suggest not using a dice tower.

Small fractions VS losing many seconds (or a die) if a die falls off the table...

To each their own

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.

There will be times that you want to be rolling dice as absolutely fast as you can physically manage to.

You guys are making me want to design a LEGO dice tower that is just as fast as rolling without one, but still preserving the wonderful randomization of LEGO dice towers

Maybe a LEGO dice cup, with protrusions and such on the inside of the cup to provide the randomization. Toss dice in, shake and slam in table, voila!

Cameron

P.S. My pet peeve is when people "roll" dice by picking them up a couple of inches and dropping them back down. Hence my love for dice towers.
