I have recently obtained a copy of Agricola, and I was wondering which version it was.

It's one of Z-Man's english editions. I don't really know what differences there are between them, but this might help:

The last line says: havinh the Half-timpered House.

If you need something else, please ask and I will provide it.

Edit:
For the animals I have normal cubes, so no animeeples.
It contained also the Z deck, but I'm not sure it counts.

Back in the days when there were less maps we played every map back to back

Ooh a little higher, now a bit to the left, a little more, a little more, just a bit more. Oooh yes, that's the spot!

There's an oldish thread somewhere that describes the differences but I can't find it cry

If you have thin fences compared then it is a new edition (but of course you would need to have seen an old edition to know that!).

If it has Lookout Animeeples then it would be 1st edition Z-Man.

Adding this also to the top post.

I'd say you have a first printing then. As far as I know the Z-deck was added as a promotion to the first Z-Man boxes.

So it isn't available separately?

Z-deck is a promotional deck. It shouldn't be sold seperately (of course collectors would pay for it).

(FYI: I still want it. In Dutch.)

This should settle it. Thanks.

I have found another difference:
My rulebook wrote:
33 round, light brown Clay counters

instead of
Rulebook on Z-Man's website wrote:
27 round, light brown Clay counters
.
The game does indeed contain 27.

I still wonder whether that card's text has been corrected, though

So I suppose to clarify the Z-Man 1st edition comments (and trusting that my memory serves me correctly). The pre-ordered 1st edition copies came with animeeples. The non pre-ordered had the cubes. I think they probably all (i.e. pre-ordered or not) had the Z-Deck.

The colour of the counters has changed a little. The first edition(s) both German and English had what I would describe as brown and light brown (or tan) counters. We have always had brown as wood and light brown as clay. Starting with a later edition one of these colours was replaced with a redish brown. I saw one of these newer copies once and it was a tad confusing. Basically, again from memory, you should have more wood than clay. So long as you agree on the colour before play it doesn't matter, nor what the rulebook says (e.g. my first edition RGG Power Grid said it came with a set of black counters but it didn't).

In my country cows are black and white.

But I suppose you mean the colour of the cow-cubes, right?
