Planning on playing this for the first time tonight. How is the pacing? Does it have a fast action feel to it or is there a lot of planning? Is it worth limiting player turns to 30 seconds or so to make it feel more pressured?

The pace is relatively fast as long as people don't take forever to decide what card to play (which is possible if they are indecisive). A timer would be cool but I'd hold off until people have learned the game, as it will increase the difficulty on an already tough game.

yeah the game doesnt play slow its pretty common to decide what you want to do on the other players or the locusts turns, and once you are familair with the action card deck it shouldnt take any time at all.

Played it last night, it felt good and pacy, didn't need a clock. It gets pretty hard when every one is down to 2 or 3 cards! We got down to they last boomer in emergance, then it killed us.

Good fun though!
