I've played this game with a couple different groups, and both independenly came up with the idea that they would like it more if they were able to play an Ogre/Urg/Weather card on a specific player rather than just their neighbor. The reasoning behind this being that if one person has an unlucky neighbor, they could get by the entire game (or most of it) without having any plants being destroyed. Targeted attacks would reduce the luck element and make it a bit more strategic.

Has this option ever been explored? Is there a rules variant that would allow for this? We can come up with some "house rules" for it for sure, but just wondering if there are some more official variant options from the designer.

Thanks!

That is a great question and one we have been asked before. We are currently playtesting another expansion and have created a Magical Beast that you can use to target another player anywhere on the table. It is a very powerful beast, and as one of the playtesters I was both the victim of this card and the one who was able to target someone else.

So stay tuned, because it is coming.
