This session is part of The Liberation SotM campaign. Full details can be found here:

The psychotic serial killer Spite has struck and the citizens of Rook City fear for their very lives.

Team C fight Spite in Rook City

I select Legacy, Tempest and Expatriette for this mission to Rook City.

Things start pretty well. The Legacy Ring and Motivational Charge are out early, along with Gene Bound Shackles for Tempest. No drugs show up early on, and the heroes wade in. Spite is down to 40 HP, and Team C are only 1 HP off maximum before Spite figures he'd better bring something to this fight.

Spite ingests Compound XI, so the heroes switch to one-shots to dish the damage. He follows up with Omicron compound: things are getting a bit tougher. Expatriette makes good use of Speed Loading and Liquid Nitrogen Rounds to contain the damage and healing.

Spite steps it up a gear, and very shortly he has all 5 drugs out. However he has not yet flipped, and in the end he doesn't get to. Legacy’s Heroic Interception allows Tempest to hit Spite with a Grievous Hailstorm, and Expatriette to follow up with a Tactical Shotgun blast to the chest. As they are immune to damage Compound XI’s healing factor doesn't kick in, and Spite goes down.

Despite an easy start Spite got some good licks in towards the end. Final HPs are Legacy 15, Tempest 11, Expatriette 15.

Spite is captured, but babbles insanely as he is taken away. “The man with the burning eyes! He told me, he showed me!” He points to a curious tattoo on his forehead which seems to pulse and glow with eldritch power. “He showed me the SIGN!” Before Team C can react the tattoo seems to grow impossibly large, and they are sucked into some sort of magical portal.

Meanwhile, Team A have headed into space to track down Baron Blade's mysterious ally...
