It seems as though there are not any more days planned for October so i thought I would get started on the list for November.

November Osaka Game Day

Date: Sunday, November 4th
Time: 9:30am to 9:30pm
Place: Naniwa-kumin Center
Map: Directions can be found here.
Participation fees: 500yen
Room capacity: 20 people

As usual the Osaka games day will be on the first Sunday of the month again in November. This month the theme is simple

Card games

From a simple deck of cards to play Cribbage, Canasta or Bridge to a complete set of every card for Magic: The Gathering there are a great variety of card games available for every taste. In fact two of the hottest games in the guild at the moment (Android: Netrunner and The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game) are card based.

So bring your favourite one, or the latest one you have, or something you haven't played in a while, or bring them all! Most card games are fairly short so we should be able to get a lot of games in during the day. There have been new faces at the last couple of games days so you should be able to find new opponents amongst them.

As a personal challenge I will be trying to play at least one game with everyone who comes along to the day. It doesn't have to be a long or complicated one, but if as many people turn up again as last time then I will have my work cut out for me!

Look forward to seeing you all there.

I think we should re-title this game day the

Annual Julien Griffon Deck-Building Extravaganza

in honor of Julien's undying passion and exuberance for the deck-building genre.

Woohoo!

Don't forget to bring Barbarossa, so that I can at least enjoy the artwork while you play the game.

I'll bring Dominant Species: The Card Game, but I also want to get its big brother to the table soon. It's not in theme and it's a 4-to-5-hour game, but if we have enough players...

Well, if Julien is cool with it we can call it that.

Can we leave Dominant Species for another day? I was hoping to keep to the theme of faster card games for the day. Maybe we can play on the 17th in Kyoto?

I think you can fall the "Griffon", but I have no problem with that title.

No DS this time again... oh, well, hopefully I can get one play of it this year.

I am running a half marathon in Osaka at 9am, so should be able to join around 230 or so (friend running a 10km at 1pm). See you guys then!

A card-driven game, it is. I'll bring my copy. I'm ALWAYS looking to play a game of TS!

My friend just brought me Thunderstone Advance so I'd love to bring that. Also, could bring my Dominion base set.

Wouldn't mind ginving Android Netrunner a go if I could borrow a deck. Might be a while till I can muster up the spare change to invest in my own set.

I just realized I won't be able to attend the November Osaka Game Day.

I have to go pick up my wife and kids in Nagoya after they return from their stay in the US. I'll be very happy to see them, but was really looking forward to the card-game based game day!

Oh well, hopefully we can still get some LotR games at the next one!

We'll miss you at the game day, Matt. At the same time, it'll be great to have the family back.

In that case, let's hold off on the Lord of the Rings game until next time. That will give me a bit more time to test my deck before I embarrass myself in public.

And give you more time to focus on Netrunner!

I bet Ryan and Gavan will still want to play.

I was really looking forward to tackling Osgiliath with four people!

I finally introduced Keith to LoTR yesterday and there are plenty of scenarios to play so I'll still be bringing my set to November, unless we can plan another day separately - but schedules being such tricksy things....

Introduced I was and interested in playing more I am!

I don't have a set though, so I will have to rely on others to bring theirs.

It might be a good idea to put out the invite on the Facebook page.

I am still going to try and play at least one game with everyone who comes on the day, let's see if I can!

Dammit, I missed Illuminati again. How long did the game last?

Also, no Lord of the Rings or X-Wing?!

Forgot about LOTR! (And I was playing... shake) Worry not, we kicked the spiders out of mirkwood with ease.

There were a lot of games that didn't get out, X-wing among them. Next month for sure.

Well, X-Wing isn't really a card game
Then again, neither is Vermin whistle

Thanks Keith, I had a lot of fun yesterday! I promise next time I'll be more careful with the markers blush

And thanks to everyone who took those games from me. That's one box less to send back to France! To anyone interested, I have a few Micropul sets left to give away.
