Just got GMT's latest update and read about Mark Hermen's new P500 game Churchill a 3-player game of Stalin, Churchill, and FDR trying to win World War II AND best position their country to "win" the peace. 3 player WITH solitare mode -- sounds awesome!

http://www.gmtgames.com/p-423-churchill.aspx

(Took 8 minutes from receiving the GMT email to completing my P500 order for the game. I think that's a record for me. I'm giddy with anticipation.)

I added it and Blood & Roses to the BGG database. Should be up in a few days.

Should we go ahead and start arguing whether Churchill is a "wargame" or should we wait until its published?

I hesitated when I entered "category". In the end I opted to include wargame, since BGG has the bar set pretty low when it comes to defining wargames...

love the way the games called Churchill but on the GMT page, the bottom graphic has Roosevelt in the foreground with stalin and churchill lurking to the rear...surely having the old cigar er himself in the middle would represent the title more..

P500'ed. That may change but, so far, I like what I'm reading.

p500'd! This sounds great, and for some reason it's easier to get 3 people than 2 lately, so hope this climbs up the order ladder quickly.

This game sounds very interesting.

I wonder how similar it might be to Triumph and Tragedy?

They both sound very similar in topic.

T&T is pre-war, and this is set later.

They both sound really interesting.

When it is your turn to send a VASSAL move, the wait is excruciating. When it's my turn, well, I've been busy.

I can't wait until next year's Golden Geek controversy!

Or the time when some obsessed Eurogamer discovers the "Yalta Hammer" and declares the game broken.

If T&T were not ETO-only, I might want to get it.
Now, only pre-order Churchill.

Hmm, very interesting but sounds expensive for considering that is mostly just cards and small wooden cubes.

Any estimation of game length? If I could play this with my wife in a night after a meal I'd consider it.

Yea, that did give me pause. (I'm willing to save-up/budget for this in the future.) At $89 for the list price and $60 for the P500, this is one of the most expensive GMT games. I suspect the price is primarily from the mounted map, 179 cards, and an unspecified collection of cubes, blocks, and cylinders. (How much less would the price be with a paper map, I wonder?)

BTW, are all GMT rulebooks now printed in color?
