If you did not know…
CAGEcon will be held in Dallas, Texas December 2-4, 2005 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Dallas.

CAGEcon is a both a comics AND gaming convention.
We will be hosting many gaming events over the weekend including board games, RPGs, even a LARP event and of course some open gaming, as well as many comic book and fantasy art guests and events at the convention. We will also have panels with our special industry related guests.

Please feel free check out the website for a schedule of gaming events and look at the many other activities we will be hosting at www.cagecon.com
You can also find contact information on the website if you have any questions!

This is news news to me. Do you have a list of vendors will be there? About how many do you anticipate attending? I saw on the website that the attendance fee is very reasonable.

Will there be open gaming?

I am not sure it is my type of con, but maybe worth a day at $8 (assuming there is open gaming).

hey all,
I still have some updates to the site to make, but most of the premier guests are on there. Here's a brief overview:

Justin Achilli from White Wolf
--- doing panels and helping to host a Vlarp event
Magnificent Egos doing a bunch of stuff
--- Eclusive mini for the con
--- Paint n Take events co-sponsored by Vallejo paints
--- Speed painting competions
--- General painting competitions
Dead Gentlemen Productions
--- Screenings of Gamers and Dead Camper Lake
--- Behind the Scenes preview of Dorkness Rising
Guest Fantasy Artists
--- Raven Mimura
--- Jason Engle
Several other comic and anime guests (www.cagecon.com)
Charity auctions

Large gaming events calender
board games
minis
CCG's
RPG's

Most will be free open play events, some will be more tournament style with additioanl entry fees. I'm working on a detailed listing of the events now, and should be up on the site this weekend. That's the main reason we are running the gate admission so low, as to not detract from all the options of events to take part in.

As for attendence, it's really hard to tell. Reasonably, probably 1000-1500 in total. With the number of large scale CCG tournaments we're going to be running, I think these number are quite likely. My goal is for 3000, but we'll have to see.

We will have a ton of open gaming, in all categories. There will be no less than two rooms dedicated to board games as well as 2-3 other rooms for minis and RPG. Then there will also be a huge space for CCG events.
