This game is a hoot. For the die-hard gamers who wanted something more strategic, less tongue-in-cheek, or with nicer components ... you missed the point! This game does EXACTLY what it sets out to do -- it parodies the original Candyland with humor, tackiness, and some highly interactive mayhem.

Quite simply, the game takes the things that make Candyland appalling for anyone over the age of 2, and turns them on their ear. First, it's not a race to the finish line so much as it's a free-for-all battle to be the last (gingerbread)man standing! It's not a simple "draw-a-card-and-move-without-thinking" time filler so much as it's a "draw-a-card-and-move-where-you-can-do-the-most-damage" time filler! And finally, it doesn't have tacky plastic pieces that are immune to the ravages of the average 2-year old, but rather it has even tackier cardboard pieces that will likely take as much damage as the characters represented in the game!

Look ... it's pure, unadulterated, tongue-in-cheek fun! If you EVER played Candyland as a sugary toddler--or against one--and lost, this is your perfect opportunity to exact revenge! Consider it the "Whack-A-Mole" of boardgames ... no real point, just raw aggression for aggression's sake, packaged to resemble a cute little kid’s game!

Read the FAQ on the Smirk & Dagger website: being the last one 'standing'(or hopping...or dragging...or 'disembodied rolling head') does not automatically make you the winner - you still have to get past The Twins. It is possible for no one to win the game...which makes me like it even more.

I had a grand time with my kids (15 & 10) playing this one.
