So I just got this by way of trade for 1829 ML. The guy I traded with was not the original owner, and I was struck by the seemingly poor quality of the track tiles; they all look hand made: some have black lines around the edges where the cut was not clean, and they are mounted on 3 different kinds of materials. As a result the front colors are not uniform: there are at least 3 different shades of green in the green tiles.

However when I was looking at pics of the game here it seems that other people have the same thing. Can someone who was an original owner speak to whether or not this was the case for them?

I was surprised because the 1829ML tiles were much higher quality, akin to Mayfair's 1830 tiles.

1825 units and materials are essentially hand-made by Francis Tresham. If you are unprepared for this, it would appear as though the game was a print-n-play production, but this is indeed the way 1825 is. I personally find it quite endearing, as it takes nothing away from the gameplay. If anything, I think the old fashioned production compliments the dated theme of the games.

Source: I owned every unit and kit available for 1825, all of it collected from the dealers who purchased directly from Tresham Games.

Yes, this is normal, the game is handmade by Francis on his kitchen table by all accounts.

Thanks guys, I knew Tresham games was a small production deal, just didn't realize the extent of it. Not a problem for me, was just curios.
