In the original Railroad Tycoon if I recall correctly there were dark blue and purple cities that caused some confusion. In Railways of the work the purple became light blue which was much easier to distinguish from dark blue.

But when I watched the video on kickstart it seems they are bringing back the purple color again - at least that's what it appeared to be to me.

Anybody have any information on this?

Purple never became light blue.
It was dark blue became light blue and dark purple became light purple.
Since settling on this scheme The colors have been perfect in Railways 2nd Edition, Western US, and Through Time. Hopefully this carries forward to all future printings and expansions.

Thank you so much! I have ordered Railways of the World after previously having Railroad Tycoon and selling it. I found I missed it so I reordered it again (except the new version).
