Perhaps they did, at least in the minds of our year 12 history examiners. A BattleTech Marauder no less.

Someone should tell them about The Unseen, before they get sued... It's a Robotech Glaug Command Pod, if I remember correctly...

I think it was Robotech (the US release name) that FASA had the license from...

They didn't have a license from anybody, that's why they ended up having to switch the designs. But in any case, they were not tied to Robotech.

My understanding is that they did have licences, but various difficulties arose surrounding them (multiple owners). This is why it was possible to temporarily resolve all this a few years ago; and why it all fell apart soon after.

They did have a license (but only for the boardgame as I understand it, not the video games, cartoons, CCGs, etc... They could have coughed up some extra cash, but decided to fight it in court. That's as I've heard it...

And while Battletech wasn't limited to Robotech, that's where the Marauder came from...

Those landing craft are the same as Ridley Scott gave the French in his Robin Hood movie, aren't they? Looks like 700 years in storage didn't hurt them a bit.

If they had a license for Battledroids, it was through Revell's Robotech model line, which incidentally was not directly tied to the TV show either. The designs were all (ALL) borrowed from various anime, including Macross, Dougram, and Crusher Joe. "Robotech" appears nowhere in Battledroids.

Yes, but the Glaug pod the Marauder is am exact copy of came from Macross.
