Hi,

A friends birthday is coming up and I want to get them a game. They mostly game with their spouse so I am looking for games that play well with two but could accommodate larger numbers.

Currently suggestions are

Shadows over Camelot: The Card Game - this plays 1-7 players.... but currently has no recommendations for two players is it any good with two?

Kingdoms - plays 2-4 don't know anything else about it.

Ticket to Ride: The Card Game - plays well with two ... but I own this already. I love it but would it be better to get something different?

any other recommendations and help appreciated

is there a specific type of game your friend likes?

San Juan -great for 2, up to 4

Kingdom Builder -not bad with 2, better with 3.

Tsuro can be played 2-8 people.

can also try dice games, that can be played with 2+ people:
Ra The Dice Game I just got this for my girlfriend's birthday, it's great, and can play 2-4 people.
zombie dice
martian dice

edit: added games

If they like TTR try TTR: Nordic Countries, for 2 and 3.
Alien Frontiers, Innovation, Navegador, and Seasons all play well with 2 and support more.

Pandemic and Flash Point are quite often the two player games in our house. Though I would definitely second San Juan.
