This is my first attempt at making new counters, so there is still a good deal of improvement possible. Feel free to edit these counters to improve balance, or to fix any errors.
23rd Special Air Service Battalion

7th Guards Rocket Division

Special Rules

Helicopter Transports:
Helicopters can carry up to two infantry units. They can only embark and disembark infantry on clear or city spaces(hills ok), and can only move 10 hexes while carrying infantry. If the helicopter is destroyed while flying, any embarked infantry is also destroyed. If the helicopter is hovering over a viable landing site, roll a die. If the result is even, the infantry is disrupted and reduced. Only "Para" units can be transported by helicopter.

Fixed Missile Batteries:
Whenever a fixed missile battery (SS-12s and SA-10s) fires, it is ammo depleted, regardless of the number of hits. SA-10s must be within 3 hexes of a "SA-10 Radar" to fire.

Scenarios
Scenario 1: “Infiltration”
August 15, 1985
Three months after the Soviets initial push into Germany, and their advance has been stopped in France. With the rest of the NATO forces occupied in stopping the Soviet army from reaching Paris, only the British can destroy the batteries of ballistic missiles trained on every major European City. The Special Air Service was dispatched to destroy the SS-12 “Scaleboard” missiles and disrupt the Russians’ supply lines. Unbeknownst to the members of the 23rd Special Air Service Battalion, Russian spies have discovered the top secret mission, and dispatched several SA-10 “Grumble” batteries and two Spetsnaz companies to guard the batteries. The SAS attempts to land their troops, but the attack is expected, and the 23rd Battalion is decimated.

Soviet:
Elements of the 7th Guards Rocket: 2x HQ, 2x SA-10 Radar, 2x SS-12, 3x SA-10, 3x Spetsnaz. Set up within 5 hexes of Eisenbach.

NATO:
Elements of the 23rd SAS Battalion: 1x HQ, 4x Dauphin, 6x Para, 3x Milan. Enter on western edge of map on first activation. See special scenario rule 1

Playable Area: Entire Eisenbach Gap map
Turns: Eight turns. One chaos marker.
Victory Conditions: If NATO exits at least three “Para” units from the western edge of the board, NATO wins. Otherwise, Soviets win.
Special Scenario Rules:
1.The NATO attack is expected, and Russian SAMs are trained on the sky. On the 23rd SASs first activation, as soon as they enter the board, roll one die. If the result is 1 or 2, do nothing. If the result is 3 or 4, one Dauphin helicopter is destroyed and any contained units are disrupted and reduced. If the result is 5 or 6, destroy one Dauphin helicopter, and any contained units are destroyed.

2. Airborne Assault. All Para units of the 23rd SAS must begin in a Dauphin, and all Dauphins must enter the board flying.

Sorry to be picky but the SAS should be called 'Regiment' and not 'Battalion', even though of battalion size. Otherwise, what a great idea, congratulations

Oops! I didn't realize that. I'll fix that in the next version, which should be out in a few days.

Scenario 2: “Behind Enemy Lines”
August 16, 1985
The 23rd SAS is pushed back, but not destroyed. A recovery team is launched, but first the 23rd SAS must survive the Soviet reinforcements.

Soviet:
Elements of the 22nd Guards Spetsnaz: 1x HQ 2x BTR-D 3x Spetsnaz 2x DShK.
Set up on road between P9 and V12.
Elements of the 7th Guards Rocket: 1x HQ 1x Radar Truck 2x SS-12 2x Spetsnaz.
Set up within 5 hexes of Eisenbach

NATO:
Elements of the 23rd SAS Regiment: 1x HQ 4x Dauphin 6x Para.
Set anywhere on map
Reinforcements: 1x Tornado. Add to cup at beginning of turn 3

Playable Area: East of hex row W, inclusive
Turns: 6 turns.
Victory Conditions: If at least 4 Para units remain, NATO wins. Otherwise, Soviets win.
Special Scenario Rules:
1. The Dauphin helicopters are equipped with smoke grenade launchers. As long as there are at least two Dauphin helicopters on the board, the NATO player receives one smoke mission at the beginning of the turn. If there are less than two Dauphin helicopters, then the smoke missions are removed from play. This smoke is less dense than smoke from artillery fire, so it occupies only one hex, and starts with the “Smoke 1” side face up.

Scenario 3: “Retaking Eisenbach”
August 17th, 1985
The 23rd SAS has survived the Soviet reinforcements, but did not destroy the SS-12 batteries. The 16th Airborne Division has arrived to reinforce the 23rd SAS and retake Eisenbach to spearhead a NATO counterattack.

Soviet:
22nd Guards Spetsnaz: 1x HQ 3x BTR-D 6x Spetsnaz 3x DShK
Set up within 3 hexes of Bergengipfel.
7th Guards Rocket: 2x HQ 2x SS-12 4x SA-10. Set up within 5 hexes of Eisenbach

Reinforcements:
84th AHR: 2x Hind-E. Add to cup at end of turn 4. Enter on southern edge of map.

NATO:
23rd SAS Regiment: 1x HQ, 4x Dauphin, 8x Para, 1x Milan, 1x Blowpipe. Set up within 4 hexes of Hugelsdorf.
16th Airborne Division: 1x HQ, 2x FV430, 3x Scorpion, 9x Infantry, 1x Blowpipe. Set up between hexrow N, hexrow V and xx12.

Reinforcements: 2x Tornado, 2x Smoke missions, 2x HE 34 Add to cup at beginning of turn 3

Playable Area: Entire Eisenbach Gap map
Turns: 15 turns. Use two end turn markers and one chaos marker in the cup.
Victory Conditions: If NATO controls Eisenbach, or has at least seven infantry or para units remaining, NATO wins. If NATO does not control Eisenbach, or has less than seven units remaining, the Soviets win.
Special Scenario Rules:
1. The 16th Airborne has been air dropped into Eisenbach. After set up, but before the beginning of the first turn, all 16th Airborne units must perform a morale check, and all units that fail are disrupted.

Nice. Did you see the Sea to Sky variant done by Christopher Ono a year or two ago?

Are the Hinds meant to represent aircraft set up for general support rather than anti-tank work? If so nice idea.

Is the Dauphin supposed to be the Eurocopter (Aerospatiale) SA 365 Dauphin? I don't show the British as using this helicopter in 1985. They did operate the HC.Mk 1 Puma and the Gazelle and various others.

What scale should this be printed at- its downloading at 60% which looks right but it also fills the page which is not possible if scaled correctly?

Thanks for taking the time to develop the counters and scenarios. I look forward to adding these to Chris Ono's and the many others who have helped support the best modern tactical conflict game.

If it is re-formatted to a single page or a front page and a back page it should then be the right size.
